New Rs 100 Currency Note Issued With Revised Nepal Map

The note, issued with the date 2081 BS (2024), carries the signature of former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari. Nepal first introduced the revised political map in 2020, which was later approved by Parliament and strongly criticised by India as a “unilateral” move.

The new banknote features Mt Everest, a rhododendron watermark, the Ashoka Pillar with “Lumbini,” and a horned rhino on the reverse side. Among all denominations, only the Rs 100 note includes the national map.
